West Morley Campus News

Denise Grassi and Zoe Schaffert – Deputy Principals

Dear families

It was lovely to meet many of you at the class information sessions and family picnics. We know the children were very excited for you to visit their classes and hear about all the exciting things that happen in a school day. If you were not able to attend please talk to your child’s teacher about getting a copy of the notes. There are plenty of opportunities to be involved with your child’s class throughout the year such as parent help, accompanying classes on excursions, assemblies and parent workshops. Please check our Term Planner to see upcoming events.

Student Wellbeing

Last year our school applied for Federal Government funding to support student mental health. We are in the process of forming a committee of teachers, administration, education assistants and speech pathologists who will be working together to support students and upskill staff in the Be You program delivery.

Be You is a national initiative for educators, aimed at promoting and protecting positive mental health in children and young people. Our vision is for an education system in which every learning community is positive, inclusive and resilient, and where every child, young person, staff member, and family can achieve their best possible mental health.

You can learn more about our progress through the LDC newsletter and to read more about Be You online visit https://beyou.edu.au or talk to Zoe Schaffert, Deputy Principal.
